This Week at Hope – Miseries Made Certain
Dear brothers and sisters,
This coming Sunday finds us back in the book of James (5:1-6). This passage is quite different from the rest of the book – a difference that seems to indicate that it is directed to a class of worldly rich people outside of the pale of the church. So what does it have to do with us, here and now, as we find ourselves within the walls of a church and in a different culture and in different circumstances than James’ readers? We need to be reminded of what will happen at the end of life – and, as Asaph reminds us, the sanctuary of Jehovah is the right place to be in order to be reminded of it. We should walk away from such a passage asking ourselves hard questions about what it is we are living for; what it is we are seeking first.

Wednesday night’s prayer time will commence with a shared meal together at the church building, starting at 6:00 pm. This is a rescheduling of the meal we intended to have last Wednesday night during Prayer Week.
Be in prayer for Scott and Deborah (who will join Scott later in the week for the Wisconsin portion). Here is what was given to us in our prayer guides:
