This Week at Hope – Unceasingly Thrilled
Brothers and Sisters,
What would it be like to be unceasingly thrilled? We turn again to the unseen back drop of all of history – There is a Throne in heaven. In the first half of the chapter we saw the beauty, v3, the Elders, v4, the Lightning and thundering, and voices and fire, v5. We saw the undisturbed sea of glass, v6a. Now we turn to the worship of God by the four living creatures, v6b-9 and the twentyfour elders, v10-11. The focus here is the worship of God on His throne, v6-11. As Dennis Johnson writes, Revelation shows us that “those who dwell with God in heaven constantly break forth in song, overwhelmed with joy and adoration by his perfections in himself and by his awesome achievements in creation and redemption” (Triumph of the Lamb, p330). They are engaged in ceaseless praise. They are unceasingly thrilled, v8. From these verses there is much to learn something about Worship.
Remember Family Camp, April 23-24 at the Brown’s Farm.
Remember Women’s mentoring Wednesday at 2:00. The ladies will be going through, “Lies Women Believe,’ while the children will be with Scott Brown, seeing the beauties of worship and the opportunity for ceaseless delight before the throne of God, and the stones that represent it.
The songs we will be singing are,

When Morning Gilds the Skies
When morning gilds the skies,
My heart awaking cries
May Jesus Christ be praised:
Alike at work and prayer
To Jesus I repair;
May Jesus Christ be praised.
Does sadness fill my mind?
A solace here I find,
May Jesus Christ be praised:
Or fades my earthly bliss?
My comfort still is this,
May Jesus Christ be praised.
In heav’n’s eternal bliss
The loveliest strain is this,
May Jesus Christ be praised:
The powers of darkness fear,
When this sweet chant they hear,
May Jesus Christ be praised.
Let earth’s wide circle round
In joyful notes resound,
May Jesus Christ be praised:
Let air and sea and sky,
From depth to height, reply,
May Jesus Christ be praised.
Be this, while life is mine,
My canticle divine,
May Jesus Christ be praised:
Be this th’eternal song,
Through all the ages on,
May Jesus Christ be praised.
Look, Ye Saints, the Sight Is Glorious
Look, ye saints, the sight is glorious;
See the Man of Sorrows now;
From the fight returned victorious,
Ev’ry knee to Him shall bow:
Crown Him! crown Him!
Crowns become the Victor’s brow.
Crown the Saviour, angels, crown Him;
Rich the trophies Jesus brings;
In the seat of pow’r enthrone Him,
While the vault of heaven rings:
Crown Him! crown Him!
Crown the Saviour King of kings.
Sinners in derision crowned Him
Mocking thus the Saviour’s claim;
Saints and angels crowd around Him,
Own His title, praise His Name:
Crown Him! crown Him!
Spread abroad the Victor’s fame!
Hark! those bursts of acclamation!
Hark! those loud triumphant chords!
Jesus takes the highest station;
O what joy the sight affords!
Crown Him! crown Him!
King of kings, and Lord of lords.
Let Us Love, and Sing, and Wonder
Let us love, and sing, and wonder,
Let us praise the Saviour’s name!
He has hushed the law’s loud thunder,
He has quenched Mount Sinai’s flame;
He has washed us with His blood,
He has brought us nigh to God.
Let us love the Lord who bought us,
Pitied us when enemies,
Called us by His grace, and taught us,
Gave us ears and gave us eyes:
He has washed us with His blood,
He presents our souls to God.
Let us sing, though fierce temptation
Threaten hard to bear us down!
For the Lord, our strong salvation,
Holds in view the conqueror’s crown,
He who washed us with His blood,
Soon will bring us home to God.
Let us wonder; grace and justice
Join, and point to mercy’s store;
When through grace in Christ our trust is,
Justice smiles, and asks no more:
He who washed us with His blood,
Has secured our way to God.
Let us praise, and join the chorus
Of the saints enthroned on high;
Here they trusted Tim before us,
Now their praises fill the sky:
“Thou hast washed us with Thy blood;
Thou art worthy, Lamb of God!”
There Is a Higher Throne
There is a higher throne
Than all this world has known,
Where faithful ones from ev’ry tongue
Will one day come.
Before the Son we’ll stand,
Made faultless through the Lamb;
Believing hearts find promised grace—
Salvation comes.
Hear heaven’s voices sing;
Their thund’rous anthem rings
Through em’rald courts and sapphire skies.
Their praises rise.
All glory, wisdom, pow’r,
Strength, thanks, and honor are
To God our King, who reigns on high
Forevermore.
And there we’ll find our home,
Our life before the throne;
We’ll honor Him in perfect song
Where we belong.
He’ll wipe each tear-stained eye
As thirst and hunger die.
The Lamb becomes our Shepherd King;
We’ll reign with Him.
All I Have Is Christ
I once was lost in darkest night
Yet thought I knew the way.
The sin that promised joy and life
Had led me to the grave.
I had no hope that You would own
A rebel to Your will.
And if You had not loved me first
I would refuse You still.
But as I ran my hell-bound race
Indifferent to the cost
You looked upon my helpless state
And led me to the cross.
And I beheld God’s love displayed
You suffered in my place
You bore the wrath reserved for me
Now all I know is grace.
Hallelujah! All I have is Christ
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life
Now, Lord, I would be Yours alone
And live so all might see
The strength to follow Your commands
Could never come from me.
Oh Father, use my ransomed life
In any way You choose.
And let my song forever be
My only boast is You.
Hallelujah! All I have is Christ
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life
