This Week at Hope – Redeemed to God by His Blood
Brothers and Sisters,
On Sunday, we will continue in Revelation 5 to consider what John saw in heaven. He is reporting that while there is much trouble in the world, heaven is untroubled. God is on His throne. Christ is on His throne. God is charting the course of history. This history is recorded on a scroll written on both sides. It contains God’s decrees for the operation of the world. And, there is no one worthy to open the scroll and unleash the plan except Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. These verses help us understand the world, our jobs, governments, families and churches. In chapter 5, Christ the lion and lamb of God is the center of attention. He is powerful, and vanquishes all who stand in his way, but He is also a humble sacrificial lamb. The Bible gives us no other way of salvation, except by the blood of the lamb slain from before the foundation of the world.
Prayer will be held at the Brown’s Barn
On Sunday afternoon, we will be reading the first half of Revelation out loud. Several of the men of Hope will be reading.
See you at Family Camp…

The Church’s One Foundation
The Church’s one foundation
Is Jesus Christ her Lord
She is His new creation
By water and the Word
From heav’n He came and sought her
To be His holy bride
With His own blood He bought her
And for her life He died
Elect from every nation
Yet one o’er all the earth
Her charter of salvation:
One Lord, one faith, one birth
One holy Name she blesses,
Partakes one holy food
And to one hope she presses
With every grace endued
‘Mid toil and tribulation
And tumult of her war
She waits the consummation
Of peace forevermore
Till with the vision glorious
Her longing eyes are blessed
And the great Church victorious
Shall be the Church at rest
Yet she on earth hath union
With God the Three in One,
And mystic sweet communion
With those whose rest is won,
O happy ones and holy!
Lord, give us grace that we
Like them, the meek and lowly,
On high may dwell with Thee
Come, Let Us Join Our Cheerful Songs
(to the tune of Am I a Soldier of the Cross)
Come, let us join our cheerful songs
with angels round the throne;
ten thousand thousand are their tongues,
but all their joys are one.
‘Worthy the Lamb that died,’ they cry,
‘to be exalted thus’;
‘Worthy the Lamb,’ our lips reply,
‘for He was slain for us.’
Jesus is worthy to receive
honor and pow’r divine;
and blessings, more than we can give,
be, Lord, forever Thine.
Let all that dwell above the sky,
and air, and earth, and seas,
conspire to lift Thy glories high,
and speak Thine endless praise.
The whole creation joins in one
to bless the sacred Name
of Him who sits upon the throne,
and to adore the Lamb.
Man of Sorrows
Man of Sorrows! what a name
For the Son of God, who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim:
Hallelujah! what a Saviour!
Bearing shame and scoffing rude,
In my place condemned He stood,
Sealed my pardon with His blood:
Hallelujah! what a Saviour!
Guilty, vile, and helpless, we;
Spotless Lamb of God was He;
Full atonement! can it be?
Hallelujah! what a Saviour!
Lifted up was He to die,
“It is finished!” was His cry:
Now in heav’n exalted high:
Hallelujah! what a Saviour!
When He comes, our glorious King,
All His ransomed home to bring,
Then anew this song we’ll sing:
Hallelujah! what a Saviour!
Wonderful, Merciful Savior
Wonderful, merciful Savior
Precious Redeemer and Friend
Who would have thought that a Lamb could
Rescue the souls of men
Oh, You rescue the souls of men
Counselor, Comforter, Keeper
Spirit we long to embrace
You offer hope when our hearts have
Hopelessly lost our way
Oh, we’ve hopelessly lost the way
You are the One that we praise
You are the One we adore
You give the healing and grace
Our hearts always hunger for
Oh, our hearts always hunger for
Almighty, infinite Father
Faithfully loving Your own
Here in our weakness You find us
Falling before Your throne
Oh, we’re falling before Your throne
You are the One that we praise
You are the One we adore
You give the healing and grace
Our hearts always hunger for
Oh, our hearts always hunger for
Before the Throne of God
Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea
A great High Priest whose name is Love
Who ever lives and pleads for me
My name is graven on His hands
My name is written on His heart
I know that while in heav’n He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart
No tongue can bid me thence depart
When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end of all my sin
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free
For God the just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me
To look on Him and pardon me
Behold Him there, the risen Lamb
My perfect spotless righteousness
The great unchangeable I Am
The King of glory and of grace
One with Himself I cannot die
My soul is purchased by His blood
My life is hid with Christ on high
With Christ my Savior and my God
With Christ my Savior and my God
