This Week at Hope – A Covenant With God and One Another
This week prayer will be held at the Burke home.
We will be having another Constitution review meeting on Sunday night, Sept 24 at 7:00pm to continue sharing with the congregation the proposed changes.

Written covenants have been common among the people of God during redemptive history. God made covenants with Noah, Abraham and Moses. Joshua, Hezekiah and Josiah all called their people to renewal through written covenants. A covenant is the central focus for our scripture focus thisweek in Nehemiah 10:1-39. This chapter brings us more of the unfolding events of the 24th day of the seventh month. At the end of chapter 9 we observed that they signed a covenant… now in chapter 10 the details of that covenant are explained. Generally, they covenanted to obey the law of Moses, but there are five specific areas called out which were especially needful for the people at that time of reformation. As we “receive the implanted word” this week, let us consider what particular areas of reformation which are needful in our own lives. And, as we consider thiscovenant in Nehemiah 10, let’s keep in mind God’s unbreakable covenant through, “the blood of the everlasting covenant,” (Heb 13). Our Lord Jesus Christ signed His covenant with His blood.
