This Week at Hope – Another Helper
Brothers and Sisters,
What is the will of God for your life? How should you make decisions? How do you know who to marry? How do you know what job you should pursue, friends to have and places to live? What is the role of emotions and impressions in decision making?
Our focus on Sunday will be John 14:15-18 with a particular emphasis on the person and work of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer and how He helps us make decisions. It is here we learn much about how life works and how we are guided by God through the world. God gives us the “Helper,” “The spirit of truth,” the Holy Spirit. In the context of these verses it is clear that He is given for several purposes: to help you love God, to help you obey God, to speak truth to you and to dwell within. If you think of the Spirit as a force or a feeling or an impression you will almost always be led astray for the Spirit is a person who speaks the Word of God to you and helps you to love God. The Holy Spirit will never lead you to compromise a command of God or a principle or precept of the Word of God.
Prayer will be held at the Noah’s.
