This Week at Hope – Awakened
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Tonight, prayer will be held at the Burke Home.
Ezra 1:5-2:70 tells a story of the early stages of an awakening. It begins in chapter 1:5, with the reason for their awakening, and the means of their awakening – restoring worship. Then, in chapter 2 we find a list of the people who were awakened. This is a long testimony of the various categories of people who returned. When the Lord awakens His people, they set themselves on a journey to the heart of worship. Chapter 2 is one of those chapters that you are tempted to skip – its almost all names. But 2 Tim 3:16-17, all scripture is god breathed… This chapter illustrates the very personal nature of God moving in the heart. He moves people. The chapter makes it clear that God calls upon and preserves a remnant.
Our Songs for Sunday are,
- He Leadeth Me
- Take My Life and Let It Be
- All the Way My Savior Leads Me
- We’re Marching to Zion
- Rise Up, O Church of God
He Leadeth Me
He leadeth me! O blessed thought!
O words with heav’nly comfort fraught!
Whate’er I do, where’er I be,
Still ’tis God’s hand that leadeth me
He leadeth me, He leadeth me
By His own hand He leadeth me
His faithful follow’r I would be
For by His hand He leadeth me
Lord, I would clasp Thy hand in mine,
Nor ever murmur nor repine,
Content, whatever lot I see,
Since ’tis Thy hand that leadeth me
And when my task on earth is done,
When, by Thy grace, the vict’ry’s won,
E’en death’s cold wave I will not flee
Since God thro’Jordan leadeth me
Take My Life and Let it Be
Take my life and let it be
Consecrated Lord to Thee
Take my moments and my days
Let them flow in ceaseless praise
Let them flow in ceaseless praise
Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee
Swift and beautiful for Thee
Take my voice and let me sing
Always, only, for my King
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee
Filled with messages from Thee
Take my silver and my gold
Not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect and use
Every power as Thou shalt choose
Every power as Thou shalt choose
Take my love, my Lord I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store
Take my self and I will be
Ever only all for Thee
Ever only all for Thee
Take my will and make it Thine
It shall be no longer mine
Take my heart it is Thine own
It shall be Thy royal throne
It shall be Thy royal throne
All The Way My Savior Leads Me
All the way my Savior leads me
What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt his tender mercy
Who through life has been my guide
Heavenly peace, divinest comfort
Here by faith in him to dwell
For I know what e’er befall me
Jesus doeth all things well
For I know what e’er befall me
Jesus doeth all things well
All the way my Savior leads me
Cheers each winding path I tread
Gives me grace for every trial
Feeds me with the living bread
Though my weary steps may falter
And my soul a thirst may be
Gushing from the rock before me
Lo, a spring of joy I see
Gushing from the rock before me
Lo, a spring of joy I see
All the way my Savior leads me
O the fullness of his love
Perfect rest to me is promised
In my Father’s house above
When my spirit clothed immortal
Wings its flight to realms of day
This my song through endless ages
Jesus lead me all the way
This my song through endless ages
Jesus lead me all the way
We’re Marching to Zion
Come, we that love the Lord,
And let our joys be known;
Join in a song with sweet accord,
Join in a song with sweet accord,
And thus surround the throne,
And thus surround the throne.
We’re marching to Zion,
Beautiful, beautiful Zion;
We’re marching upward to Zion,
The beautiful city of God.
Let those refuse to sing
That never knew our God;
But children of the heav’nly King,
But children of the heav’nly King,
May speak their joys abroad,
May speak their joys abroad.
The men of grace have found
Glory begun below;
Celestial fruits on earthly ground,
Celestial fruits on earthly ground,
From faith and hope may grow,
From faith and hope may grow.
Then let our songs abound,
And ev’ry tear be dry;
We’re marching through Immanuel’s ground,
We’re marching through Immanuel’s ground,
To fairer worlds on high
To fairer worlds on high.
Rise Up, O Church of God
Rise up, O Church of God!
Have done with lesser things
Give heart and mind and soul and strength
To serve the King of kings
Rise up, O Church of God!
His kingdom tarries long
Bring in the day of brotherhood
And end the night of wrong
Rise up, O sons of God!
The Church for you doth wait
Her strength unequal to her task
Rise up, and make her great!
Lift high the cross of Christ!
Tread where His feet have trod
As followers of the Son of Man
Rise up, O Church of God!
