This Week at Hope – Becoming a Mission-Minded Church
We are two weeks away from the Carrington-Templeton departure. Over the past year, the church has been increasingly learning what it means to ‘hold the rope.’ Very soon, we will have the full weight of 19 souls on the other end of that rope and an entire church-planting mission. In order to maintain a firm grip on the rope for the long-haul, we will need to truly become a mission-minded church. I believe God is shaping us into such a church for His glory.
In Colossians 4:2-6 Paul sets before the church there in Colosse what it takes to be a mission-minded church. This Sunday we will seek to study what Paul identifies as the true marks – earnest praying, wise walking, and gracious speaking. Note: these are the marks of a ‘sending’ church – not just the ‘sent’ ones. May God truly make us a mission-minded church.
Prayer Wednesday evening will be at the Burkes’ home.
Our brother Paul will be bringing the Sunday afternoon message. Pray for Scott this weekend as he ministers in California.
