This Week at Hope – Filled with the Holy Spirit
Brothers and Sisters,
On Sunday morning our scripture focus, Acts 2:1-13, will serve as a helpful calibration to what is the center of our lives together and in the world until Christ returns. Our time in Acts 1-2 is designed to serve as a bridge to our studies in the book of Revelation. We finished with John’s Gospel, and will soon be in John’s Revelation. In these chapters in Acts the Lord gives us a picture of the birth and expansion and priorities of the church during the church age, which will continue until Christ returns in glory. The heart of the season, and everything in our lives, between the ascension of Christ and His resurrection is characterized b the people of God gathered, “with one accord in one place,” “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit.”
Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting will be held at the Brown’s Barn
We are really looking forward to the Father Daughter Campout, which starts at 5:30 on Friday and runs to Saturday afternoon… Feel free to set up your tents anytime on Thursday or Friday. Looks like the weather is going to be nice.
Mark your calendars for Nov 13 at 6:00 for the Pilgrim Play at the church building.

O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing
O for a thousand tongues to sing
My great Redeemer’s praise
The glories of my God and King
The triumphs of His grace
Jesus! the name that charms our fears
That bids our sorrows cease
‘Tis music in the sinner’s ears
‘Tis life and health and peace
He breaks the pow’r of cancelled sin
He sets the prisoner free
His blood can make the foulest clean
His blood availed for me
Hear Him, ye deaf; His praise, ye dumb
Your loosened tongues employ
Ye blind, behold your Savior come
And leap, ye lame, for joy
My gracious Master and my God
Assist me to proclaim
To spread thro’ all the earth abroad
The honors of Thy name
Come, Holy Spirit, Come
Come, Holy Spirit, come;
Let Thy bright beams arise;
Dispel the darkness from our minds,
And open all our eyes.
Cheer our desponding hearts,
Thou heav’nly Paraclete;
Give us to lie with humble hope
At our Redeemer’s feet.
Revive our drooping faith;
Our doubts and fears remove;
And kindle in our breasts the flames
Of never-dying love.
Convince us of our sin;
Then lead to Jesus’ blood,
And to our wond’ring view, reveal
The secret love of God.
‘Tis Thine to cleanse the heart,
To sanctify the soul,
To pour fresh life in ev’ry part,
And new create the whole.
Dwell, therefore, in our hearts;
Our minds from bondage free;
Then we shall know and praise and love
The Father, Son, and Thee.
Revive Us Again
We praise Thee, O God!
For the Son of Thy love,
For Jesus Who died,
And is now gone above.
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Hallelujah! Amen.
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Revive us again.
We praise Thee, O God!
For Thy Spirit of light,
Who hath shown us our Savior,
And scattered our night.
All glory and praise
To the Lamb that was slain,
Who hath borne all our sins,
And hath cleansed every stain.
Revive us again;
Fill our hearts with Thy love;
May our souls be rekindled
With fire from above.
How Deep the Father’s Love For Us
How deep the Father’s love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory
Behold the man upon a cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished
I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no pow’r, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom
Behold the Lamb
Behold the Lamb who bears our sins away
Slain for us and we remember
The promise made that all who come in faith
Find forgiveness at the cross
So we share in this bread of life
And we drink of His sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of peace
Around the table of the King
The body of our Saviour Jesus Christ
Torn for you eat and remember
The wounds that heal the death that brings us life
Paid the price to make us one
So we share in this bread of life
And we drink of His sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of love
Around the table of the King
The blood that cleanses ev’ry stain of sin
Shed for you drink and remember
He drained death’s cup that we may enter in
To receive the life of God
So we share in this bread of life
And we drink of His sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of grace
Around the table of the King
And so with thankfulness and faith we rise
To respond and to remember
Our call to follow in the steps of Christ
As His body here on earth
As we share in His suffering
We proclaim Christ will come again!
And we’ll join in the feast of Heaven
Around the table of the King
