This Week at Hope – He will convict the world
Brothers and Sisters,
Prayer tonight will be at the Brown’s Barn.
We will also be going to Carillon Assisted Living with the Hillmans and the Solik and whomever else. They need a piano player tonight. If any of our musicians would like to volunteer for that… we can sing acapella in the Barn tonight. It would be really nice to have a piano going at Carillon.
On Sunday, our text is John 16:1-15, Jesus explains more details regarding the coming persecution. Jesus is warning them so that they are not taken by surprise. I’m thankful for the many ways the Lord has prepared us to face the things that will come in to our lives. He continues to explain the advantage it is to them that he is going away. He tells them much, but He is a wise and kind shepherd and does not tell them what they cannot bear at the moment. Further, He comforts them that He will by His Spirit, “will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.” What a comfort this is. The Lord will use His Spirit to do the work, and we will watch Him glorify Himself through it.
Also, Sunday, immediately after the morning service we will be doing a group picture via drone for the Carrington family book.
Our singing on Sunday will feature these songs:
Behold Our God
Blessed Assurance
Holy Spirit, Living Breath of God
O Church Arise
How Sweet and Awful Is this Place
