- I Know Whom I Have Believed
- Christ of All My Hopes the Ground
- In Christ Alone
- He Will Hold Me Fast
- Arise, My Soul, Arise
I know not why God’s wondrous grace to me He hath made known
Nor why, unworthy, Christ in love redeemed me for His own But I know Whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able
To keep that which I’ve committed unto Him against that dayI know not how this saving faith to me He did impart
Nor how believing in His Word wro’t peace within my heartI know not how the Spirit moves, convincing men of sin
Revealing Jesus thro’ the Word, creating faith in Him
I know not when my Lord may come, at night or noonday fair
Nor if I’ll walk the vale with Him, or meet Him in the air
(tune: Take My Life and Let It Be)
Christ, the spring of all my joy,
Still in Thee may I be found,
Still for Thee my pow’rs employ.
Still for Thee my pow’rs employ.
Let Thy love my heart inflame;
Keep Thy fear before my sight;
Be Thy praise my highest aim;
Be Thy smile my chief delight.
Be Thy smile my chief delight.
Fountain of o’erflowing grace,
Freely from Thy fullness give;
Till I close my earthly race,
May I prove it “Christ to live.”
May I prove it “Christ to live.”
Firmly trusting in Thy blood,
Nothing shall my heart confound;
Safely I shall pass the flood,
Safely reach Immanuel’s ground.
Safely reach Immanuel’s ground.
Thus, O thus, an entrance give
To the land of cloudless sky;
Having known it “Christ to live,”
Let me know it “gain to die.”
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I standIn Christ alone! – who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I liveThere in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of ChristNo guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand!
When I fear my faith will fail,
Christ will hold me fast;
When the tempter would prevail,
He will hold me fast.
I could never keep my hold
Through life’s fearful path;
For my love is often cold;
He must hold me fast. He will hold me fast,
He will hold me fast;
For my Savior loves me so,
He will hold me fast.Those He saves are His delight,
Christ will hold me fast;
Precious in His holy sight,
He will hold me fast.
He’ll not let my soul be lost;
His promises shall last;
Bought by Him at such a cost,
He will hold me fast.For my life He bled and died,
Christ will hold me fast;
Justice has been satisfied;
He will hold me fast.
Raised with Him to endless life,
He will hold me fast
‘Till our faith is turned to sight,
When He comes at last!
Arise, my soul, arise,
Shake off thy guilty fears:
The bleeding Sacrifice
In my behalf appears:
Before the Throne my Surety stands,
Before the Throne my Surety stands,
My name is written on His hands.He ever lives above,
For me to intercede,
His all-redeeming love,
His precious blood to plead;
His blood atoned for ev’ry race,
His blood atoned for ev’ry race,
And sprinkles now the throne of grace.Five bleeding wounds He bears,
Received on Calvary;
They pour effectual prayers,
They strongly plead for me;
Forgive him, O forgive, they cry,
Forgive him, O forgive, they cry,
Nor let that ransomed sinner die!My God is reconciled;
His pard’ning voice I hear;
He owns me for His child,
I can no longer fear;
With confidence I now draw nigh,
With confidence I now draw nigh,
And “Father, Abba, Father!” cry.
