This Week at Hope: Seize the Day
Dear ones,
Rightly living for the world to come means making the most out of the world we now live in. As we come closer to the end of Ecclesiastes, Solomon is getting to the applications of all he has been sharing with us throughout this book. Here in 11:1-8 he speaks once again of the uncertain and unknowable things of this life. And he gives us instruction to live by as we face the uncertain and the unknowable. As those who have embraced our end and hold it clearly in view, we should seize this very day.
This passage teaches us to give while we can, to sow while we can, and to prepare while we can. The days are coming when we will not be able to give, to sow, and to prepare any longer. Work, for the night, is coming, when man’s work is done.
Wednesday night prayer will be at the Brown’s barn.
This Thursday night is our scheduled night at Carillon 6:30 pm. This is a grand opportunity to live out this Ecclesiastes text – giving while you can; sowing the seed of the gospel while you can; and in light of Matthew 25, preparing for eternity while you can. Contact Alan if you are able to lend a hand.
