This Week at Hope: True Experiential Christianity
Dear brothers and sisters,
We will gather this Sunday, the Lord willing, to consider 1 John 1:3-4. Our own experience testifies to the fact that there are some seasons in our life that seem like a foretaste of heaven. But there are other seasons that come as well – where we find it difficult to rise above the circumstances where God’s providence has us. Maybe you, like I, have known that difficulty on some level in recent weeks.
Our passage for Sunday is an encouraging passage. It reminds us of the fellowship to which we have been called – a fellowship with the Lord of heaven and earth and with His Son Jesus Christ. A fellowship that then extends from Him who is the Head to His body, our fellow believers. This passage also reminds us of the fullness of joy that Christ purchased for us. What do we know of this fellowship and this joy? Is it our daily experience?
