This Week at Hope – Jehovah Tsidkenu: The Lord Our Righteousness
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
This Sunday we will be wrapping up our study in James by reviewing the entire epistle. As we have seen, the book of James is a very practical guide to what real faith looks like in the true Christian’s life. It calls us to a radical life – a life of sanctification.
Maybe your experience in this study has been like mine – time and time again seeing just how far short I fall in these critical areas. As stated this past Sunday, my desire for us as a congregation as we walk away from this study is that we strive more and more to be a people abiding in Jesus Christ. He is the true Vine, and apart from Him, we can do nothing. Hence, this Sunday, it is my purpose to walk us through James with an eye to how Jesus fulfilled every one of James’ exhortations on our behalf. Our obedience to the exhortations of James (our sanctification) is in response to and on account of the perfect obedience of Jesus Christ that is imputed to us (our justification).
To God be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Prayer on Wednesday evening will be at the home of the Noahs.
