Ecclesiastes 9 will be our text for this Sunday. In this chapter, Solomon continues to hold before us what is good for us in this vain life of ours. He as it were takes us behind the scenes in order to show us that things aren’t always the way they seem on the surface. Rather than leaving us to have to deal with these things unprepared and on our own, Solomon provides us a peek behind the scenes – a view that should enable us to deal with the ’time and chance that happen to [us] all.’
In the very midst of this invitation to peek behind the scenes, Solomon tells us to simply stop and smell the roses; to enjoy God’s good gifts; to make the most of our God-given days that are passing by like the wind. If that sounds unspiritual or worldly to us, then I would propose to you that we are not thinking rightly about our God, His gifts, and our life.
Prayer on Wednesday night will be held at the Burke’s house.
Our afternoon teaching this Sunday will be brought to us by Ash Noah on the subject of The Grace of God.
