This Week at Hope – The Comforts of God in a Multitude of Anxieties
Dear brothers and sisters,
We sit here tonight not knowing (at the moment) who will be the next President of our country. But this we do know – Christ is King of kings and Lord of lords. He is on the throne. And that means that the election results will be for His glory and our good.
This Sunday we will be looking at Psalm 94:8-19. He is the One who disciplines the nations. And we are promised that in the midst of this discipline, He will not abandon nor forsake His people. Do you have a multitude of anxieties? The Psalmist did. But in the midst of these anxieties, his soul was able to declare, ‘Your comforts delight my soul.’ God is the refuge of the righteous. Does your soul know the delight of His comforts?
In God’s providence, our 1689 study the next two Sunday nights will also be focused on providence.
Tomorrow night’s prayer meeting will be at the Burke’s house.
A few items:
Don’t forget our special 10-year anniversary gathering next Wednesday – 11/16. Also, this Sunday will be the interns’ last Lord’s Day among us. We have been blessed to have these two young men with us since May. We pray God’s blessing upon them as they return home.
Your brother,
Mike D
